Each day, we receive thousands of stimuli: sights made of many shapes and colorssounds from voices, radios, televisions, nature, and movements. We experience feelings though memories, emotions, taste, temperature, and touch.
As a result of all these stimuli, we have thousands of thoughts that enter our minds each daywith and without our permission. Many of these thoughts are unconscious reactions, but subconsciously, each affects our attitudes and where we place our focus. It becomes easy to lose focus on the purpose at hand.
When you feel uneasy, restless, or overwhelmed, ask yourself these questions:
What is my purpose of accomplishment this moment?
What thoughts have I allowed to enter my mind without my permission?
Have I lost focus on the purpose at hand?
Where do I need to place my focus now?
You have the choice of how you will react to any stimulus. You can accept or reject any thought recieved from a limitless, chaotic field of stimuli.
If you have lost focus, close your eyes and relax for a moment. Empty your mind. Then refocus on the purpose at hand. You will feel peaceful, and your day will be productive.
